A Funny Thing Happened in 1800

Oh Hai!

I just thought I would share one of the funny teaching moments.  While reviewing for a test on Thomas Jefferson’s presidency I asked the students which U.S. governmental body broke the tie between Aaron Bur and Thomas Jefferson in the election of 1800 (the House of Representatives).  After giving it some thought, one young lady answered Spain.  The class enjoyed her answer very much.

Thank You For Your Consideration,

That’s awesome! That’s almost as good as my students forgetting Peter Stuyvesant, the Dutch colonial leader of New Amsterdam, yet explaining to the principal in graphic detail how he lost his leg to a cannonball and didn’t have any drugs to kill the pain.

    Cool blog, by the way.
