Turtles Take Over the Runway
As I have to get on an airplane again tomorrow, this animals in the news story really attracted my attention. Apparently some turtles invaded JFK Airport in New York and shut down a runway for a time on Wednesday. I hope I don’t have that kind of issue in Atlanta, an extremely lovely city by the way.
It looks like the 78 turtles that left their home in Jamaica Bay were looking for a safe place to breed. Sorry guys, but a runway might not be the best spot to find a love match and make some babies. The terrapins were saved by the Port Authority but flights were delayed for about an hour an a half. The turtles were returned to Jamaica Bay in the back of a Port Authority pick up truck. Everyone was glad they were safe despite the flight delays. I am happy to hear that the little guys are back home safe and sound. I hope they found a good place to breed and now are expecting many little bundles of turtle joy.
